Table Tennis Tournament

Rules

• a match is played best of $g games
• for each game, first player to win $p points wins that game; however, a game must be won by at least a two point margin
• each player serves exactly two points in a row; however, if the score is $p-1 all, each server serves only one point and then the server is switched
• players switch side of the table after each game
• legal serve: we won't care too much about properly holding and tossing the ball
• values of the g and p variables depend on the current tournament round (see Tournament System below).
• everything else should be pretty much "standard"

Tournament System

• single-elimination tournament
• at most 16 people will get to play (FCFS)
• brackets are created on the spot
• table showing number of games per match (g) and number of points per game (p) given a tournament round:

  final:	g = 5;	p = 11
  semis:	g = 5;	p = 7
  other:	g = 3;	p = 5

Scoring

• 2 points for showing up
• 2 points for wearing the team t-shirt
• 5 points for participating (playing at least 1 game)
• 40 points for winning
• 30 points for 2nd place
• 20 points for losing in a semi-final
