Welcome to my world on the web, a window through with which I would like to share with you my life, my work, and my thoughts.

I am a 5th-year Ph.D. student in EECS, MIT. I am currently working in CSAIL, advised by John Fisher and Prof. Eric Grimson. I also work closely with Prof. Alan Willsky in LIDS. Before I joined MIT, I received an M.Phil. in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a B.Eng. in the University of Science and Technology of China. I worked as an intern researcher in Microsoft Research during 2009 and 2010 summer, respectively in Redmond and Silicon Valley. I also had an internship in Microsoft Research Asia in year 2004.

Research Interests

My research interests are mainly on probabilistic modeling and inference, and its applications on computer vision, pattern recognition, and other relevant AI fields. I am especially interested in the following topics:

  • Nonparametric Bayesian modeling and inference
  • Generative modeling of images and videos
  • Discrimination and clustering using contextual structure
  • Motion pattern representation and modeling
  • Efficient MCMC sampling and variational inference techniques

Awards

  • Outstanding reviewer award of ICCV 2011
  • Best student paper award of NIPS 2010
  • Outstanding reviewer award of ICCV 2009
  • Best master thesis award of the Engineering school, CUHK (2006)
