6/22 Eagle at the Belvedere

Eagles regularly circle above and through the gorge, among many other birds and butterflies. Most are small and fly unsteadily in the wind. On one route (Heure Zero) a small type of bird made multiple passes by us at high speed, coming within about 3 meters, so that we could hear it on its semicircular path in and out of a section of L'Escales bounded on both sides by jutting walls. The eagle in some of the following pictures made multiple passes over the lookout point where we'd parked to climb Spaggiari. These shots were taken at 4:30pm.
