I was picking up a sandwich at the bakery when I spotted this penny lying on a table. Yes, I liked the sight of the little round coin against the colorful, angular table tiles, and of course I snapped a picture. But mostly I kept thinking about Beethoven’s merry “Rondo e capriccio” in G major, Op. 29, better known by the title, “Rage over a Lost Penny.”
