When hiking I sometimes leave my heavier gear behind. But the RX1 is small and light enough that I always bring it along, so it’s available for capturing fun moments like this one.
For taking “happy snaps” I always set my RX1′s mode dial to “1″, my shortcut for quickly getting to Aperture priority, Auto ISO, and single-image autofocus. Lighting conditions on the trail are often tricky, so it’s helpful to have a sensor capable of handling wide dynamic range comfortably.
