I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Computer Graphics Group at MIT CSAIL. I work with Frédo Durand and Edward Adelson on perception of abstract imagery. In particular, I am interested in understanding how people interpret shape and material from abstract images and drawings, and in applying this knowledge to improve rendering algorithms.
I obtained my Ph.D. in computer science from Princeton in June 2009, advised by Adam Finkelstein. At Princeton I worked on non-photorealistic rendering, with an emphasis on computer-generated line drawings.
