Welcome. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm a Postdoctoral Associate in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT, and a member of the Robust Robotics Group. My research is focused primarily on robot navigation and mapping, using multiple sensing modalities (with an emphasis on visual and inertial sensing). My supervisor is Prof. Nick Roy.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta and Master's degrees in Computer Science from both the University of Southern California and the University of Alberta (in that order, ask me if you want to hear a funny story...). I received my PhD in Computer Science from USC in 2011.

For more information about me, click on the links at the top of the page (the small ribbon markers). You can also check out my MATLAB Tricks 'n Tips blog.

The photo at the upper right was taken at the top of Mt. Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia in October, 2010. The photo below was taken from the USC campus, looking north towards downtown Los Angeles (several years ago, before LA Live opened).
