I have received the 1000 business cards i ordered from your company. Unfortunately, there was a mistake in the cutting, likely resulting from a human decision to move the center.
The entire cut was moved 1/10 inch to the left and 1/10 inch down. The end result is an off-centered business card, where my name is stuck against the top, and a large white space is left on the bottom.
Your website mentioned that we should leave 1/8 inch margin on each side of a custom design, resulting in 3.75' by 2.25' for a final 3.5x2 business card. It also specifically mentioned to not include a square 3.5x2 square marking the center, to avoid having a vertical or horizontal line after the cut.
Following these guidelines, i centered my design on the 3.75' by 2.25' frame, leaving 1/8' on each end. However, the person doing the final cut decided to move the entire design down and left, effectively cramming my name against the top of the card, which makes it look very goofy.
All 1000 cards are consistently off-centered, so i assume this is not a printing problem, but instead a human decision to move the margins down and to the left, possibly to include more of the MIT seal on the card, but at the detriment of a comfortable margin above my name.
I am attaching two documents describing the error, and an updated PDF document with clear markings for where to center the picture.
I hope you will decide to correct the error and send me new business cards. Let me know if you want me to ship the current batch back to you.
Many thanks in advance, and thaks for your understanding. As you can imagine i spent a lot of energy designing this card right, and i don't want to end up with a large batch of incorrect goofy-looking cards.
Best regards,
