6.001 MIT Scheme for Microsoft Windows 3.1

You can download the files required to install 6.001 Scheme from this page, or from the 6.001 Athena locker. See README.TXT for details on downloading from the Athena locker. If your computer is not on the network, see Using floppy disks below.

Windows 3.1

If you are running Windows 3.1 you will need PW1118.EXE in addition to the other files, and you will need to follow the installation instructions carefully.

Using floppy disks

If your computer is not networked you can install Scheme by using an Athena workstation or a friend's computer to copy the files onto floppy disks. Then you can copy files from the disks into the C:\DOWNLOAD directory and proceed as normal. The file 6001DIST.ZIP is about 4MB so it does not fit on a floppy disk, so we have split it into the following pieces:

Note that README.TXT, UNZIP.EXE and 6001DIST.1 all fit on one floppy. The other 6001DIST.? files each fit snugly onto one floppy. When you have copied the DIST6001.? files into C:\DOWNLOAD on your computer you reconstruct the 6001DIST.ZIP file by entering the following commands at an MS-DOS prompt:

	c:
	cd \download
	copy /b 6001dist.? 6001dist.zip

You may now delete the 6001DIST.? files.

Other files

You should read the README.TXT file first to see if you really want these files. You can always come back later and get them if you do.
