This is a release of the Jade implementation. This release is designed for networks of workstations (SUN4, SGI, and DECStation) using PVM, for the Intel iPSC/860 hypercube, for the Stanford DASH multiprocessor, and for the SGI family of shared-memory multiprocessors. To acquire Jade, get the jade.tar.Z file, uncompress it and untar it. This will create a directory called jade in the directory where you typed the tar command. Here is a sample session: > hing % uncompress jade.tar.Z > hing % tar xf jade.tar > hing % cd jade > hing % vi Install This sample session leaves you looking at the jade/Install file, which tells you how to install jade. If you are running Jade on a network of workstations, you will need PVM. You must therefore obtain and install PVM if you don't already have it. To obtain PVM, send mail to netlib@ornl.gov with a subject line of "send index". netlib will send you mail which will tell you how to get a lot of free software (including PVM). Jade is for PVM 2.4, so be sure to get PVM 2.4, not PVM 3. We have included a pvm2.4.tar.Z file, so you can use that if for some reason you have problems getting pvm2.4 from netlib.
