She holds a PhD degree in computer science from Cornell University. Her research interests include distributed robotics, mobile computing, and self-organization. She was the recipient of an NSF Career award and an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellow. She is a class of 2002 MacArthur Fellow.

Education Workshop

  • Co-organized the Robotics Education Workshop during the 2005 Robotics Systems and Science Conference
  • Working on developing an integrated approach to teaching robotics that will train students simultaneously in foundational aspects of designing, controlling, and programming robots and embedded systems.

Activities Accomplished

  • Our robot AMOUR has swam in the Malaria swimmathon on December 3, 2005.
  • The money raised by this event raised money for 272 mosquito nets.
  • Take a look at worldswimformalaria for details and click here if you wish to be a sponsor.
