Battle Road

Sutler Information PageThis page has been created to give sutlers information about participating in the Battle Road event in April of 2000. Xxx Xxxxx, of Sullivan Press, is coordinating the sutlers. If you have any questions, please email Xxx Xxxxx. March 8 - 2000 - Sutler applications are closed. Please do not send in any license applications to the state!!! Through the efforts of Xxx Xxxxx and others, it appears that we will not be encumbered with licensing and bonding problems. Sutlers who want to attend the event must notify me by March 1. This is a no-extension, no-exception, drop-dead date! At that time a list of vendors will be assembled by the Township of Lexington and Hawker/Peddler licenses will be requested by the township. Do not under any circumstances contact the state directly for a license application. Only those sutlers on the March 1 list will be allowed to sell at the event. I can't say enough about the efforts of Xxx Xxxxx, Xxx Xxxxx, and others in helping us for this event.
ContentsRules for ParticipationAll sutlers will be assigned space. Do not set up without first checking in with Xxx Xxxxx, the sutler coordinator. Your space will be marked. It is quite likely that we will be crossing ropes at this event, so you must tell me how much space you will need. Limitations
LocationThe sutler area is on a baseball field next to the Colonial and Regulars camp. The camp is 200 hundred yards from one of the battle fields that we will be using and is about 1/2 mile from Lexington center. The Battle Road Committee will provide the normal wood, water, straw, and toilets for the sutlers/merchants. Sutlers - Who's Invited, Who's Attending - Invitation/Acceptance TableInvitations were sent to over 70 sutlers. There will be 27 sutlers attending the Battle Road event. For your convenience, email or Web site links to the attending sutlers have been added where possible so that you may contact your favorite sutler before the event.
