3 yard lengths of white handkerchief linen will be available at the Hive - Cost is $25/piece

Shifts should be made of white linen, or less commonly, in white cotton.
The finer the material,  the higher-class the garment is. Coarser and heavier fabrics are better for lower class impressions, or if you tend to be cold and want a warmer layer underneath your clothing.

The amount of fabric needed for your petticoat is dependent on your height and the fabric width
For those over 5'6", you are likely to need the higher amounts listed.
When beginning your 18c wardrobe - it's best to stick to solid color, plain woven wools & linens.

Remember - all fabrics should be 100% natural fibers - linen, silk, wool, cotton and hemp. If you're not sure of the authenticity of a fabric, try getting a swatch for show and tell. Those at the Hive will be able to help answer questions. Burn tests are also recommended for testing fiber content. When beginning your 18c wardrobe - it's best to stick to solid color, plain woven wools & linens.
