In preparation for Battle Road-2000
A Series of seminars and workshops on outer garments
for Men, Women, and Children
A series of workshops in preparation for Battle Road ‘98 were
conducted between Nov.'97 and March '98. This winter season's series has
been completed. We had a wonderful time gathering with our fellow
reenactors as we learned together how to better portray our forefathers
(and mothers). We fully anticipate renewing this program next winter. If
you have any ideas for programs you would like to attend, or if you would
like to be included on a mailing list for notification of future programs,

Editor's Note: An explanation of the page title:
While the [French] expeditionary force was in Newport in November and
December 1780, Rochambeau had a newspaper printed for his soldiers, the
"Gazette Françoise".
Documented by a French scholar -- Marc Martin -- in a work entitled
"Les origines de la presse millitaire en France", this was
apparently the first instance of a newspaper directed at the common soldier
(soldat) and predates the next instance by 12 years!
