NOTE ABOUT DROP-FRAME VS. NON-DROP-FRAME: Drop-frame timecode drops two frames from the COUNTER every minute (the counter will jump from 59:29 to 1:00:02). No frames of video are actually dropped. This is done to accurately reconcile NTSC's 29.97 fps frame rate with the 30 fps counter. When non-drop-frame is used, over time the counter and video will drift out of sync, so the counter's time does not correspond to the "real" time of the video. This drift only becomes noticeable after about 30 minutes, so for short projects you will not notice it. Drop-frame can be confusing, so you may want to use non-drop-frame for short projects. Basically the main gist of this is that this setting only affects the counter; your video will be the same with either one.
