Bio:
Wenqiang (Winston) Chen is a postdoctoral associate at MIT CSAIL. He attained his PhD from the University of Virginia, working with Professor John Stankovic. His research resides at the convergence of ubiquitous and mobile sensing, Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), and human-computer interaction (HCI). In particular, his focus is on imbuing everyday objects with interactive intelligence. The primary challenge has revolved around devising effective intelligent interaction platforms tailored for the next generation of computing. As the first author, he has published his research in various top conferences and journals, such as Mobicom, Ubicomp, UIST, and Transactions on Mobile Computing. His work has earned him three best paper/demo awards as the first author: the IEEE SECON 2018 Best Paper Award, the ACM SenSys 2020 Best Demo Award, and the ACM Mobicom 2022 S3 workshop Best Paper Award. In 2022, he was selected to CPS Rising Stars. Beyond academia, Winston's innovations have been granted seven patents, and his intellectual properties have been transferred to thousands of consumer devices.
