Talk on Assistive Technology

June 16, 2014

I gave a talk today at Universal Village 2014. Here are some links from my presentation:

Open Style Lab (OSL) is a 10-week Boston-area summer program (June 13-August 16, 2014) for design, occupational therapy and engineering students to create clothing solutions for people with disabilities collaboratively.

The MIT Assistive Technology Club is a student group that serves as the starting point for engaging with students, faculty, and staff about assistive technology (AT) for people with disabilities. We worked on universal access to smartphones, a MIT IDEAS Global Challenge Winner, in 2011.

Eone: Designed for Everyone created the highly successful Bradley Timepiece. It's an incredible product, and I'm excited by what Hyungsoo and his team have planned next.

Principles and Practice of Assistive Technology (PPAT) is Professor Seth Teller's MIT undergraduate course on assistive technology. I'm biased since I was the teaching assistant for the course the first time it was offered, but I think it should be the model for other undergraduate engineering courses in this domain.

Thank you for attending the talk! Please get in touch.
