Yongjin Park

I am a postdoctoral researcher in Computational Biology group, CSAIL, MIT. Prior to MIT, I worked on community detection problems of possibly multiple biological networks at the Bader Laboratory, Biomedical Engineering, Johns Hopkins University.


  1. Two networks. This project aims to build a model that identifies relations between DNA sequence-based transcriptomic regulatory mechanisms and gene-based functional modules.

  2. Deeper knowledge of biological systems. A majority of discoveries in computational biology, bioinformatics, and biostatistics explore breadth of data with clustering or one-level association. Here we aim to "dig deeper" into mechanisms integrating multiple types of data sets and excavating high-level structures, i.e., a cluster of clusters, or association of associations, to encapsulate details but to deliver interpretable results.
