Hi! My name is Andrei and I work at MIT on pretty much anything that has to do with decentralization, ranging from identity and authentication, to access control and data ownership. Together with Prof. Tim Berners-Lee, I lead a really cool project that aims to radically change the way Web applications work today, resulting in true data ownership as well as improved privacy.
I am also a member of the GovLab Network, a group that aims to improve people's lives by changing the way we govern. You can learn more about it in the Projects section below.
Finally, I am a former W3C team member. There I participated in Web standards work on topics around identity, authentication and also Semantic Web technologies such as LDP and LDPatch. You will find more details in the Activity section below.
Below you can find a list of things I can help you with. Keep in mind that I am a "No bullshit" person that likes to get things done in the shortest amount of time.

Ph.D. in Computer Science • Oct 2013
My Ph.D involved research into decentralized identity, authentication, and access control. If you are interested in reading my manuscript, it is publicly available from archives-ouvertes.fr.
M.Sc. in Computer and Communication Networks • June 2010
This Masters programme covered subjects on general communication networks, computer security and applied cryptography.
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Computers • Sept 2006
My studies covered a variety of topics ranging from theoretical electrical engineering subjects to networking and computer science.
Solid is an exciting new project led by Prof. Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, taking place at MIT. The project aims to radically change the way Web applications work today, resulting in true data ownership as well as improved privacy.
GovLab is a network of partners working to strengthen the ability of institutions – including but not limited to governments – and people to work more openly, collaboratively, effectively and legitimately to make better decisions and solve public problems. The network includes NYU, MIT, Harvard Business School, Arizona State University Center for Policy Informatics, George Washington University and Columbia Business School.
As a staff member, I participated in the Linked Data Platform Working Group which provides an architecture for read-write Linked Data on the Web. This standard, which is used not just in Solid but by other industry technologies, progressed at a quick pace and involved cross-industry collaboration, testing and multiple implementations. I am also the author of the Linked Data Patch Format, which defines a language for expressing a sequence of operations for patching Linked Data resources.
