Spades 1.2 is the classic spades card game played by many people across the United States. Now this popular game has hit the Internet with a Java version of this classic. With a Java-capable browser, you too can participate in this great American tradition.

General Play for Spades

Traditionally, spades is played with four players (two on each team). Team members jointly bid on the number of tricks (or "books") they can win. Once the bid is in, the game begins.

General Play for Spades 1.2

Spades 1.2 is slightly different. There are four players but each person bids and plays individually. Generally, all other rules apply.

General Rules

The order of spades is: Big Joker, Lil' Joker, Ace Spades, King Spades, etc... No deuces (ie 2's) are wild. The order of the order suits is: Ace, King, Queen, etc... The 2 of club and 2 of hearts are not in the deck.

Playing Spades 1.2

Once the game loads, you will be asked for a bid. Bids are between 2 and 9 (You must bid atleast 2). After bidding, the game begins. (Special Note: Spades is played clockwise!!) Your computer opponents will play their cards automatically. You select your cards by hitting the left mouse button over the card you want. (Special Note: if you try to play a card that is not legal, Spades 1.2 will do nothing).

Winning Spades 1.2

The winning score is 300. The game will end when one or more players have reached 300. Good luck!

Starting Spades 1.2

To begin Spades 1.2, hit the play spades button below. Once the game is over, you can exit the game and perform manual reload (ie. by re-entering the URL) to start a new game.
