Sounds like the problems that I hear being screamed about down the hall
from the Windows and Mac developers - apparently THOSE compilers also
'take liberties' with the 'standards', implementing neat little 'features'
that end up breaking all sorts of things...
The bottom line is that most compilers that I have seen suck in one way or
another - regardless of platform or vendor. Of course, I've never worked
for anyone who has valued code development high enough to actually go to
a company whose entire business consisted of _nothing_ but compilers - perhaps
things differ with those products.
