Two things:
1. I too am running the MacOS X PB on a WallStreet PowerBook, so, yes, I
know it works on these machines (although the PB is agonizingly slow on it).
2. The "October 1998" date in the press release may be an error: The Apple -
MacOS X - Requirements page at: <http://www.apple.com/macosx/requirements/>
Clearly states that WallStreet PowerBooks are supported.

I wasn't thinking of Win XP, but rather LinuxPPC, which, of course, runs on
these PowerBooks. The attraction is running one OS (Linux) on all my
different hardware. Anyway, may be moot if the MacOS X Requirements Page is
correct.
