I thought about that. Particularly porting AllegroServe but in the end
I went for the easier route of wrapping an existing C library. 

I put a wrapper around Curl (http://curl.haxx.se). Currently I'm only
using the http side of things but it leaves room for FTP, Telnet and
LDAP. Since its also available on Linux a wrapper could be created for
Gwydion Dylan with the same interface allowing portable programs...any
takers among the GD hackers?
