Not that Dylan's ever seen comparisons like this, but I have heard less 
about how HotSpot (a JIT designed for a dynamic, pure-OO, template-based 
language) was going to make Java (a static, semi-OO, class-based 
language) faster than C++ recently.

Paging *is* always a speed hit. :-)
