In the second week of October 1999, Boston.com offered two Red Sox playoff tickets to the person who could "tell us why you are the number one Red Sox fan in 50 words or less." After some long thought, I submitted my answer.

According to the nice lady who called me, they selected my entry from among 5,480 others to award me tickets to attend Game 5 of the 1999 ALCS at Fenway Park between the Red Sox and some team from The Bronx.

I was hoarse for a week. :-)
