Comparisons with Image Completion

Image completion techniques, such as the "content-aware fill" in Photoshop, are actually very powerful. They are able to nicely handle many cases. However, since image completion is still a very challenging task and cannot succeed always, users would still desire other options when image completion fails. Further, because image completion synthesizes new content that actually does not exist, users would sometimes desire other options that do not bring in new content.

Therefore, the comparisons between our method and image completion are not for competition; rather, we would like to provide users with another tool when image completion is unsatisfactory, or when the users just simply dislike image completion techniques.
