I recently started as an Assistant Professor in the Center of Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence at Baylor college of medicine and part of NINAI. My work is at the intersection of computer vision, machine learning and computational neuroscience. I aim to use principles from neuroscience to develop perceptual models that are human-like in its ability to learn efficiently and generalize. To this end, my current research focus is to build models that learn from limited data, continually develop knowledge and learn using data as supervision. Please send me an email if you would like to know more.

Previously, I was at IBM Research and a Postdoctoral Associate at CSAIL, MIT with Dr.Aude Oliva. I obtained my PhD in Computer Science at University of Amsterdam under Dr.Sennay Ghebreab, Dr. H. Steven Scholte and Professor Arnold W.M. Smeulders. I completed my Masters(Electrical engineering) in 2011 from the University of Minnesota, USA. During this period, I interned at Xerox-PARC(Palo Alto Research Center) and INRIA, Sophia Antipolis. I completed my Bachelors(Electrical engineering) at SRM University, Chennai.
