• If you want to write and read instances of a particular class, then define that class to be an implementer of the Serializable interface.
• If you want to write an instance of a particular class, then instantiate the following pattern:

  FileOutputStream output stream 
   = new FileOutputStream("file name"); 
  ObjectOutputStream object stream 
   = new ObjectOutputStream(output stream); 
  ... 
  object stream.writeObject(instance); 
  ... 
  output stream.close(); 
  

• If you want to read an instance of a particular class, then instantiate the following pattern:
