883: Mainline

Creating and running your own thread is a three-step process:

• You define a subclass of the Thread class. In that definition, you include a definition for a run method.
• You create an instance of your subclass of the Thread class.
• You call the start method with the instance as the target, whereupon the run method begins to run independently.
