Menu bars exhibit labels, each of which, when clicked, exhibits a menu. Each menu, in turn, exhibits menu items, some of which may, themselves, be menus.
As the following shows, the emerging application has a menu bar with one
menu, Options. When clicked, the Options menu presents two
menu items: Food Type and Mode. The purpose of the
Food Type menu item is to open a file-dialog window that enables you
to load new information into the application; the purpose of the
Mode menu item is to determine whether the meter shows total
calories or only fat calories.
