Academic Interests
I'm a graduate student working with Tom
Knight, Jr. and Prof.
L.C. Kimerling on the High-speed
Interconnects project. My doctoral research includes VLSI optoelectronic
circuits and devices, and CAD software design for interconnection methodologies
between chips. One optoelectronic technology being explored is an Er-doped
SiGe process. We are developing integrated lasers, waveguides, and detectors
on the same substrate as CMOS devices and wires. Also, we are investigating
high-speed geometrical structures and circuits for reducing interconnect
delays and signal propagation across VLSI chips.
My master's research involved the computerized design, synthesis, and
analysis of Si detector arrays for VLSI optoelectronic interconnections.

Thesis which was supervised by Tom
Knight. I have worked as a consultant for AT&T Bell Laboratories
since 1992. My TA experience includes 6.111, 6.371 (2 terms),
and 6.313. I have
also setup course software (hacking Mentor Graphics tools), created standard
cell libraries, and developed tutorials for 6.371 in the area of
automated VHDL-to-VLSI layout synthesis.
