Connie's Memory Quilt
A homemade quilt built by all of the people who love Connie Teevan. All that is needed from you is that you submit the following three items.
Mail necessary information to:
Jaime Teevan

Please mail by 12/10/2004.
1. Quilt Square
Submit 6"x6" piece of fabric. This will be sewn together with other people's quilt squares to make the memory quilt. Decorate only the shaded inner 5 inch square, leaving a half inch border.

Ideas for your quilt square can be found below.

You do not need to identify yourself on your square. Information about you and your square will be gathered into a Quilt Index that will accompany the quilt.

2. Photograph A 4"x6" photograph of you and Connie, in landscape orientation (in other words, the photo should be wider than it is tall). I will put a picture of your quilt square, together with this photograph and some information about you, in a book that will accompany the quilt. This book, the Quilt Index, can be used by Connie to identify who contributed the various pieces of her quilt.
3. Personal Information
Your name as you would like it to appear in the Quilt Index:

(Optional) A short sentence to appear in the Quilt Index (e.g., a description of why you designed your quilt square the way you did):

Thank you for participating in Connie's Memory Quilt. Information about the Memory Quilt, as well as pictures of the project, can be found online at http://www.teevan.org/quilt.

Simple Quilt Square Ideas

Beautiful Fabric Submit a piece of fabric you think Connie would like. For example, if you used to go sailing together, fabric with an ocean or sailboat pattern might be perfect. My husband will probably submit a piece of Hawaiian fabric, because the place he's gotten to know her best has been in Hawaii during our Christmases there.

Old Clothes If you have a shirt from an event you and Connie attended together, you could cut a square out of that shirt. For example, I will create a square to represent my father using an old shirt of his.

Fabric Paint Use fabric paint to decorate the square. My four month old son's square will be made using fabric paint to put his handprints or footprints on a square.

Special Photograph Transfer a photograph to a piece of fabric. An easy way to do this is to print a photo to a piece of t-shirt transfer paper, and then iron it onto whatever fabric surface you want. Transfer paper can be easily purchased at places like Wal-Mart.

Of course, you are welcome to be more ambitious, and embroider your piece of fabric, sew beads onto it, or appliqué designs with different types of fabric. Just be sure to get your square in by December 10, 2004.
