CHAPTER 38
"Chris, why do I feel like I am on
Dismissed?" she asked.
"Huh?" he asked as he grabbed a peanut from the silver bowl on the
table and threw it in the air to try to catch it. Because he was smashed, it was
nowhere close to landing in his mouth. "Damn."
"The show...ya know Dismissed?" she asked and when he wasn't paying
attention she grabbed a peanut and chunked it at him.
"HEY! Yeah, okay....Dismissed...got it," Chris said defensively and
grabbed another one. "What about it?"
She sighed. "Lance and JC....I feel like they have been fighting for my
attention ALL night."
"Shouldn't you be flattered?" he asked as he tried again, but it fell
in his chin hair. "Where'd it go?"
She just laughed as she leaned up and grabbed it from his chin. "Right
here, ya moron."
"Man, I need to trim that a bit."
"Can I pull these please?" she asked as she tried to grip the two
horns on his chin.
"HEY, no way," he laughed as he pulled away from him. "Stop
picking on me."
"Well, pay attention and stop with the peanuts...you suck at it."
"You could do better?"
Andy just sighed and grabbed a peanut, tossed it in the air, opened it mouth and
the peanut fell right in. She gave him a mocking grin as she ate it.
"Yeah."
"Show off," he pouted and then picked one up. "Go long."
Andy laughed as she leaned back and opened her mouth so Chris could throw it to
her. She caught it and held up her hands in triumph. "Two points!" She
laughed with him and shook her head. "Man, Chris...although we didn't talk
about my dilemma, you still managed to make me feel better."
"Hey, I try," he said and then threw one to himself and this time he
caught it. "Aww yeah!!" He picked up another one. "So who would
you dismissed?"
"What?"
"Like the show? At the end of the night, who would you dismiss?"
She opened her mouth and then closed it. "I...I dunno."
He let out a laugh. "Whatever, Lance doesn't have a chance."
"And why is that?!" she asked.
"Cuuuuz, you're ga ga over the C-man. Its okay, you don't have to hide it,
I know."
She shook her head. "You're smashed."
"Hey! That doesn't matter. A lot of liquor.....equals the truth. Everyone
is honest when they are drunk!"
"Hey, there you are," JC said as he walked up to the table.
"Where's Lance?" she asked warily.
"Uhhh, don't know....Last I saw he was being dragged on the dance floor by
Beth," he chuckled.
She nodded. "Good...you can take me back tot he hotel then....I need
sleep."
"Sure," he said with a grin. "My pleasure."
"Bye Chris," she slurred before JC put an arm around her.
"By kids, play safe," he teased with a wink
JC flicked him off as they walked off, leaving Chris alone with his peanuts.
Lance came back shortly after, looking for Andy. "Hey, where'd Andy
go?"
"Left with JC," he said and held up a peanut. "Go long."
"What?!" he asked confused.
He sighed. 'Never mind."
Lance pouted while he sat in the booth. "Damn, he got to take the girl
home."
"You realize you didn't have a chance, right?" Chris asked as he
tossed another peanut in his mouth.
"Thanks for the vote of confidence., man....REALLY appreciate it."
He rolled his eyes. "Come on man...its JC and Andy we are talkin about for
cryin outloud."
He sighed. "I know...but JC said they are just friends."
"Now maybe, but its only a matter of time when they get together....hell,
me and Justin started a poll. I got dibs on by the time we're in D.C. Justin has
Boston. Want to put down something?"
He rolled his eyes. "No, I don't. And I'm not giving up....not yet at
least."
