The Game Is Still On

Meanwhile, AJ had just woken up and stared around the room, looking a little
confused.
“Where the hell is Justin at? Does it take that long to talk to JC?” he wondered.
He looked at his watch and saw it was 7:45. “Ugh...I might go see where he is.”
AJ got out of the bed and put his shoes on and walked out of the room over to
JC and Chris’. He knocked on the door and a few seconds later JC answered the
door.
“Hey AJ, what’s up?”
“Hey, I was just coming to see if Justin was still over here.”
JC gave him a funny look. “What do you mean? Justin never came over here.”
AJ looked confused. “He told me he was coming over here before I went to
sleep.”
“Well, he never came over here. Do you know where he would be?”
AJ shrugged his shoulders. “No idea. Let’s go ask the others, maybe he went to
see one of them.”
“Yeah. Hey Chris, come on. We gotta go look for Justin!” JC yelled back into the
room.
“What is Justin missing now too?” Chris said, laughing a little.
JC shook his head. “No, I hope not. He just told AJ he was coming over he and
he never did so we’re gonna go look for him now.”
Chris sighed. “Whatever.”
The three of them went over to Joey and Lance’s room and AJ knocked on the
door.
“Hey guys, what’s goin’ on?” Lance said when he opened the door.
“Hey Lance, we were just wondering if you or Joey have seen Justin around. I
guess he told AJ he was coming to me and Chris’ room but he never did,” JC told
Lance.
“No, I haven’t seen him since we found Teri, have you Joey?”
Joey walked up to the door. “Nope, I haven’t seen him either.”
The others gave each other weird looks. Where could Justin be?
“Well, we’re gonna go check with Kevin and Howie. Why don’t you guys check
with Brian and Nick, k?” AJ told them.
“Yeah sure,” Lance said, nodding.
AJ, Chris, and JC headed over to Howie and Kevin’s room and knocked on the
door. Howie answered.
“Hey D, have you seen Justin around lately?” Chris asked him.
Howie shook his head, “No, how come, is he missing or something?” he asked
looking a little worried.
JC nodded slightly. “We think, he wasn’t in our room, his and AJ’s room, or
Lance and Joey’s. They went to go check with the others.”
Kevin came over to the door. “This is just great. The last thing we need is
another person missing, it’s like deja vu.”
Chris nodded and just then they heard Joey yell out behind them. “None of them
have seen Justin either, where could he be?” Joey had a worried look on his face
now. Brian, Nick, Teri, Laura, and Emily had all come out of their rooms now.
Teri’s eyes widened with fear.
“You...you mean, Justin’s missing?” she said, a fearful look on her face.
“Don’t worry Teri, I bet he just went downstairs. We’re probably worrying over
nothing,” Kevin said, trying to comfort her, though he looked worried too.
“Well, then we better go make sure,” Emily said.
Laura was just staring at the others, not believing it. Had that bad feeling she
had been real? Had something happened to Justin like had happened to Teri?
......................
Justin had fallen a long ways through the floor before he ended up landing on
top of something soft. It was pitch black where he had just landed and he
couldn’t see anything. He shakily started to get up.
“Oh God, what the hell was that? Teri was right, why didn’t I believe her before?
This place really is haunted.” He shivered, remembering what he had just seen
and barely escaping it. Justin tried to look around but couldn’t see anything. It
was eerily quiet and it scared him.
All of a sudden he felt a gust of wind and the lights flashed on, blinding him.
Justin jumped, and covered his eyes, afraid to look. He slowly uncovered his
eyes and looked around. All he saw around him were boxes and other things. It
looked like he was in the basement of the old mansion. He looked up and didn’t
even see a trace of the hole he had just fallen through.
“Where’d it go? I know I didn’t imagine that!” he thought.
Justin sighed and decided to look for the stairs to go back to the first floor. He
turned around and almost screamed at what he saw. Painted in blood on the
wall of the basement were the words, ‘You still must play The Game. We make
the rules.’ The blood was fresh and was starting to streak and drip on the floor.
“What does that mean? The Game? Who is making the rules?” Justin said aloud.
He started to back up, fully scared. He looked around wildly and saw a staircase
on the other side of the basement. He ran towards it and bolted up the stairs.
He slammed against the door but it was locked.
“No!” Justin cried. “Oh God, please open up! I can’t take this anymore.” Before
he could say anything else, again, he was plunged into darkness.
......................
While Justin was in the basement, the rest of the group had headed down the
stairs. Teri was looking more and more worried. She was almost positive that
Justin was probably going through something like she had. The others still
weren’t sure, still not believing the place was haunted. The reached the bottom
of the stairs and were standing in the entrance room.
“Let’s split up you guys,” Brian suggested, “some of us should go look for Ms.
Calhoun and the rest should look for Justin.”
“Why do we need to find Ms. Calhoun?” Emily asked.
“Cause we need to find out more about this place. This is getting kind of weird.
First Teri disappeared and then Justin. Something’s not right,” Brian replied.
“Ok, why don’t we split it up this way. Me, Laura, Joey, Howie, Lance, and Nick
will go and try to find Ms. Calhoun. Brian, you, Emily, Teri, JC, AJ, and Chris, you
guys go and try to find Justin. Once you guys find Justin, try to come find us.
We’ll be somewhere on the first floor probably.” Kevin instructed everyone.
Everyone else nodded and the group split up. Going in different directions, to
find what they needed to find.
