For those of you not living in Calgary, the entire city smells like sitting around a campfire burning wet lumber.

The smoke is so thick that I can't see downtown from my house, only 3 km away.

The older I get, the closer to the speed limit I drive when going long distances.

Somedays I feel like a coal miner in the new economy.

Nothing like trying to install some Movable Type modules as well as associated perl modules and discovering there's something missing in your distribution of perl not only keeping the module from working but also bringing down key parts of the system...

Golly... I really hate that.

No... not the new beetle... the old love bug.

And yes... they were still making them. Over 68 years they made 21,529,464 of them. Will there ever be another automobile that enjoys a lifespan like this?

Our dog wore the pads off her feet this weekend. I kid you not. We took her on a 20km bike trip to the Big Elbow campground. A bit too much activity for a dog used to hour long leashed walks along the river. Also the terrain was a bit harsh. She was watered and rested properly, but she apparently got blisters on her feet from running too much.

Here she's cooling down in the river. She stood in this one spot for five minutes. Smart dog. She was pretty content at this point.

She's fine now. And it was a pretty good weekend for the rest of us.

Had some technical problems yesterday. Nothing a little percussive maintenance couldn't fix.
