Ducking responsibility:Some people
believe that no matter how careful humans are in
cleaning their boats and motors, live wells, and

to stop aquatic birds like ducks, from spreading
zebra mussel larvae on their feet or in their
feathers either upstream or overland to
uninfested waters. April 1995

Walleyes-Still plentiful but more
difficult to catch:Lake Erie fishermen take
note: pollution controls introduced in the '70s
and the zebra mussel introduced in the mid-'80s
will very likely affect your ability to catch
walleye in ways that you can appreciate only if
you know something about the fish's biology.
