Navion

My first project working with Sertac Karaman and Vivienne Sze involved the Navion chip --- a tiny integrated circuit that can perform visual inertial odometry (localization with a camera) while consuming 24mW on average! I was brought on the project to demonstrate the chip at the 2018 Symposia on VLSI Technology and Circuits using the MIT Racecar.

The conference was in Hawaii, which happens to be where my grandparents are from. Here is a little demo video of the car driving around in their back yard. Localization from the chip is shown in the bottom right.

Here is a picture at the conference featuring, from left to right; Amr, Diana, Vivienne and myself. image:https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7806/39704830733_24134fde18_k.jpg
