Kim Odom and Steven Odom
Kim Odom's youngest son Steven Odom, 13, was returning home after playing basketball when he was shot and killed Oct. 4, 2007 one block from his home. He was rushing home to make his 8 p.m. curfew.
Kim is field director of Ladies Involved in Putting a Stop to Inner City Killing (LIPSTICK). She is a co-pastor with her husband of True Vine Church in Dorchester. Steven Odom played drums at True Vine Church and attended James P. Timilty School in Roxbury.
