The Simulation of Ghosting Phenomenon

This webpage shows a ghosting effect simulator based on gemoteric optics and Fresnel equations. Please enable javascript on your browser.

The simulator takes camera and object positions, as well as glass thickness, and output the kernel of ghosting cues, which are parameterized by the separation distance and the attenuation factors.


  • Move the camera and the object: drag the icons by pressing the mouce right key (do not release)
  • Rotate the camera: press key A / D
  • Change the glass thickness: press key W / S
  • Others details:

  • Scene configurations: focal length = 50mm, refraction index = 1.5, pixel size = 4.6 um
  • Click the canvas to start the simulation.
