This is a map of the United States that shows where immigrants were being detained by law enforcement without a convction, 7 years ago in 2009. The bigger and redder dots indicate areas where more immigrants were being held without conviction. The largest area where this occurred was southern Texas. The southern United States had more instances than the north. This seemed to occur more often in the cities of the US, as opposed to the rural areas.
