Eastern Mediterranean have high risks, while the Americas and Europe have much lower risks. 
 South-East Asia has a moderate risk.

This chart shows the 2004 burden of disease attributable to contraception (DALYs) by the World 
Health Organization region. The diseases are measured per 1000 women aged 15-44 years old. 
In 2004, Africa had the highest diseases attributable to contraception -- around 18,000 women. 
Most of them (about one third) were due to unsafe abortions and the rest were due to other 
maternal conditions. The Eastern Mediterranean regions had the second highest, South-East 
Asia the third highest, the Americas the fourth highest. High income regions had the lowest 
amount of diseases, around less than 1,000 women -- about half due to unsafe abortions and 
half due to other maternal conditions. Europe had the third lowest DALYs, and Western Pacific 
regions the second lowest.
