Dementia is a horrible sickness that can totally cripple someone and see that they cannot
live a normal life, will nothing but paranoia and discontent.
This chart from the Wall Street Journal shows how scientists have a better understanding of
the role plaques play in causing alzheimers in patients.
This article is about Alzheimer's patients and how this treatment attacks beta amyloid and
that is not working, and some are going to start attacking tau. Then a picture of the head
shows and inside picture of the brain.
The figure presented to the left is titled Signs of Decline. The figure is a representation
of the statistical research data for plaques made of different proteins.
The image depicts the plaques made of the protein beta amyloid and the tangles made of the
protein tau. With researchers seeing very little progress in successfully fighting Alzheimers,
they are now turning their attention to these two proteins with hopes of progress.
This chart shows signs of decline in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. The chart shows that
36 million people world-wide have dementia. It also shows that there 7.7 million new cases
of dementia every year.
This chart from the Wall Street Journal shows how plaques may be the cause of certain neurological
disorders like Alzheimer's disease but that more research needs to be done
As we age and are ever closer to death we see that our bodies and minds begin to fail us.
It is an inevitable thing of life. In this study we see the breakdown of various diseases
that plague people in their third age.
This is a useful chart giving lots of information about the Alzheimer's disease. It is showing
symptoms of having it and how the disease works as well as data regarding the amount of people
it affects.
This chart shows information about plaques made of the protein beta amyloid and tangles made
of the protein tau form in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. There are a large number with
dementia and it is still a mystery in some ways to scientists.
Signs of Decline (title) This is an image about Alzheimer's disease, discussing the progress
made by scientists/doctors, which hasn't been much. There are illustrations of parts of the
brain (neurons, etc), facts on the disease (36 million afflicted, etc..) and other figures
and statistics.
This chart illustrates the beta amyloid and tangles in the brain that slowly lessen as dementia
and Alzheimer's sets in during old age. IT tells the number of people living with Alzheimer's
and dementia and projections.
