	It isn't, it's "hubris". :-)

	What about backtracking?  Are continuations useful just because they are a "universal control construct", that in theory simplifies life by providing one construct from which all others can be constructed?  (or is this merely appealing to the desire for an "elegant" feature that isn't really practically useful?)  Are they useful to provide programmers with a means to build their own control construct if what they need is not provided by the "standard" control constructs provided by the language [designer's idea of what programmers will need]?
