I agree that it makes sense to consider these separate axes. But if you 
ask Alan Kay(who is said to have coined the term "object oriented"), he 
may say that both encapsulation and dynamically bound messages are key 
concepts of what he meant by OO. (I seem to remember reading something 
by him to this effect)
