algebra rhyme

Yet Another Poem
(with apologies to Quux and Kilmer)

Many's the language that has trees;
So why arrays for clods like me?
For those with sensibility,
The tree is like the bee's own knees.

One realizes why they please;
Simpler values inject in trees
And are retracted out with ease
By their initialities.

But when our values have some cost,
Leaves amongst branches may be lost.
(References in data are
Close to code's goto, which we bar)

So flatter structures have their grace;
Final-typed data takes less space,
May also boast a quickened pace:
The cheapest CONS? a cancelled case.
