Smalltalk programmers generally use long, descriptive parameter 
names.  Some names, such as caloriesPerGram, indicate the role of the 
parameter.  Others, such as anInteger, indicate the expected type of 
the parameter.  Such names tend to improve readability, but Smalltalk 
does not force you to adhere to any particular  naming convention.  Smalltalk is happy to work with more 
conventional parameter names, such as x and y.
