Novices should never edit the createViews method defined by the
GUI builder. The Smalltalk Express GUI builder is able to handle certain
manual changes, such as changes to strings and numbers; in general,
however, manual changes may make it impossible for the GUI builder to
maintain the createViews definition as your requirements change or
grow.
