About
My name is Zhizhuo Zhang (pronunciation). I'm currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Computational Biology group at MIT, under Professor Manolis Kellis. I'm interested in applying advance statistical and machine learning techniques to understand genetic component of complex diseases like Alzheimer disease. Particularly, I am passionate about sequence specific regulatory grammar and the use of allelic specific intermediate phenotype like mRNA expression and epigenetic state to dissect the inter-play between DNA and disease pathology. Also, I actively participate several large consortium projects, including GTEX, ENCODE, NIH Epigenome Roadmap.

Prior to MIT, I earned my PhD in School of Computing at National University of Singapore , under Professor Ken Sung . My PhD focused on developing efficient algorithms for transcription factor binding motif analysis for ChIP-seq data and long range chromatin interaction analysis for Hi-C and ChIA-PET data.

I am also a fellow of MIT IMPACT program
