I'd also like to point people to the iteration macros Richard Kelsey
wrote for Scheme 48 which I really like.  Richard used sequence data
structures as a starting point which greatly focusses the design of
the macros.  Documentation is currently at

It's possibly of interest that the syntax may look as if it's using
keywords when in fact it's not.

(Sebastian Egner also has a SRFI draft in the making for "eager
comprehensions" which I'm beginning to like even better.  If you're
