Boat Preparation
- Get key, foul weather gear (if necessary), from sailing center.
- On the boat, unlock cabin, stow baggage.
- Check flares, first aid kit, electrical system, radio.
- Pump the bilge.
- Either use the built-in pump at the port-stern (need to attach handle)
- Or use the small hand pump with a bucket
- Get the Jib sail from the forward cabin and put it on deck.
- Prepare outboard motor and tiller.
- Take elastic bands off tiller.
- Lower outboard using red handle.
- Tilt outboard into water, holding the outboard at the handle near the top, and
using the tilt lever.
- Check the fuel tank, open the vent (see motor operation).
- Set the fuel tank switch to the fuel tank setting.
- Bring the throttle lever forward.
- Take Jib sheets out of starboard stern seat compartment (the Jib sheets are thicker than the Spinnaker sheets which are also in this compartment).
- Check anchor in port stern seat compartment.
- Take the cover off the main sail, take elastic bands off main sail.
